Penn State keeps no. 7 ranking in FWAA Super 16 Poll

Texas makes the big jump this week in the Super 16 Poll form the FWAA and NFF. Here is where Penn State ranks this week.

After an eventful Saturday night saw Texas upset Alabama in Tuscaloosa, the updated football polls are in for some significant changes following Week 2. The FWAA-NFF Super 16 Poll for Week 2 saw the Longhorns move up into the top four, skipping past Penn State in the process.

Penn State remains no. 7 in the updated FWAA-NFF Super 16 Poll this week after its blowout win over Delaware. It is the same ranking the Nittany Lions have had each of the past two weeks. Georgia remains the top favorite in the poll with 47 first-place votes to cement itself atop the poll at no. 1.

Michigan continues to hold on to the second spot in the ranking for another week, with four first-place votes. Florida State made the big move a week ago to move up to no. 3, which is where they remain in Week 2 with four first-place votes.

Texas picked up the remaining two first-place votes following its big road win at Alabama on Saturday night. The Longhorns are the new no. 4 in the Super 16 after moving up seven spots from no. 11 a week ago. Texas lept past USC, Ohio State, Penn State, Washington, and Notre Dame in addition to Alabama to make the biggest move up this week. USC also moved a spot ahead of Ohio State to take the fifth spot this week, with Ohio State dropping to no. 6. Tennessee also moved down two spots amid the shuffling of the top 10. The Vols were also passed by Texas this week while falling just outside the new top 10 down to no. 11.

Colorado makes their first appearance in the Super 16 poll by taking the 16th and final spot in the poll following a 2-0 start with a win over Nebraska in Week 2.
