4-star safety Peyton Woodyard flips to Alabama

Peyton Woodyard, a four-star safety, has flipped his commitment from UGA to Alabama

Four-star safety recruit Peyton Woodyard had been committed to the Georgia Bulldogs since January 2023. Now, Woodyard has flipped to the Alabama Crimson Tide.

The four-star safety is the No. 6 player at his position and the No. 81 overall prospect in the class of 2024, per 247Sports. The 6-foot-2, 190-pound defensive back is the ninth-ranked recruit in California.

Peyton Woodyard, who is a member of the class of 2024, plays football for St. John Bosco High School in Bellflower, California. St. John Bosco beat national powerhouse Mater Dei during the 2022 high school season to win a division title.

Kirby Smart and company have commitments from 26 players in the class of 2024. Georgia has the top ranked class of 2024 in the country. However, Georgia needs to add a few commitments at defensive back. Georgia recently lost a commitment from four-star safety Jaylen Heyward. Additionally, the Dawgs missed on five-star KJ Bolden.

Woodyard detailed why he flipped from Georgia to Alabama to ON3.

I feel like at the end of the day it was a no-brainer with the DB pedigree they have over there at Alabama.
