David Ross wasn’t happy for most of July 4.
The Chicago Cubs manager argued with umpires over whether William Contreras interfered by taking a certain route to first base that may have gotten in the way of Miguel Amaya’s throw to score a run. Then? He took issue with the Brewers closing the roof of American Family Field in the middle of the game.
Oh, did I mention that the Cubs WON on Tuesday, 7-6? Still, Ross spoke to reporters and let loose on the day: “I know it’s not an easy job, but some of the pitches that got called today weren’t even close. So, it’s gotta be better. They’re closing the roof to get rid of the shadows late, there’s a lot of bull [expletive] that went on today that was really frustrating.”
Then: “I [expletive] thought it was horse [expletive], I don’t know.”

This was ruled a double.
David Ross had a long conversation afterward with home plate umpire Erich Bacchus, seemingly on the path William Contreras took to first base. pic.twitter.com/ohwSqTCPtR
