WATCH: Texas freshman Cedric Baxter and Anthony Hill putting in offseason work

Baxter and Hill are both stars in the making for Texas.

Texas signed a historic 2023 recruiting class this past offseason.

The incoming Longhorn freshman rank as the No. 3 class nationally and No. 1 in the Big 12 Conference. On paper, it is the most talented group stepping foot on the Forty Acers since the 2010 recruiting cycle.

Two of the players Texas expects to come in and carve out a significant role early on are running back Cedric Baxter and linebacker Anthony Hill. The five-stars both enrolled early for the spring semester and are already turning heads in practice.

Baxter joins a loaded Longhorn backfield with Jonathon Brooks, Keilan Robinson, Jaydon Blue and Savion Red. Baxter fits the mold of a future workhorse back at the college level. He flashed in the spring game and should earn carries early in his career.

Hill fits into Texas’ defense as a weapon that can be used in various ways. He can fill a similar role to DeMarvion Overshown from a season ago as a traditional off-ball linebacker and in the pass rush.
