The San Francisco Giants (11-17) and Houston Astros (16-13) play the middle game of a 3-game set at Minute Maid Park Tuesday. First pitch is at 8:10 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Giants vs. Astros odds and make our expert MLB picks and predictions for the best bets.
Season series: Houston leads 1-0
The roof caved in on the Giants’ bullpen Monday as they lost 7-3 after allowing 5 runs in the 7th inning with the game tied 2-2. 1B LaMont Wade Jr. homered for the 3rd straight game. He’s riding a 6-game hitting streak and is hitting .364 with 4 homers during that stretch.
Houston had to navigate 9 innings with its bullpen after RHP Luis Garcia (elbow) left the game after 8 pitches. They allowed just 3 ER on 4 H and struck out 9. However, that may have an effect over the course of the rest of the series.

Giants at Astros picks and predictions
Prediction
Astros 6, Giants 4
Moneyline
Brown has only allowed an earned run in 2 of his 5 starts, and the Astros need length from him Tuesday. He has yet to give up a homer this season, and that’s what the Giants do best. San Francisco is 3rd in MLB with 1.74 HR/game but lost OF Mike Yastrzemski (hamstring) and SS Brandon Crawford (calf) to the IL Monday, and the Astros should have enough to take down the thin club.
Since Brown induces strikeouts, and the Giants whiff the most (10.79/game), take the parlay of ASTROS ML+BROWN 5 K (-120) at a much more reasonable price than the -190 ML.
Run line/Against the spread
The Astros’ pen threw the entire Monday game, and it’s a lot to ask to hit the RL with just a +105 incentive.

Over/Under
This one is a wild card. The Giants are 4-5-1 O/U over the last 10 games, and Houston is 4-6. However, it’s 79 degrees with an 8-mph gust toward the Crawford Boxes in left-center field. DeSclafani has given up a homer in 3 straight starts, and 4 have left the park overall. It’s not a sure thing, but I’ll lean OVER 8 (-110).
