Tennessee (23-10, 13-3 SEC) defeated LSU (28-2, 15-1 SEC), 69-67, in the SEC Tournament semifinals Saturday at Bon Secours Arena in Greenville, South Carolina.
Tennessee, the tournament’s No. 3 seed, trailed the Tigers by 17 points early in the contest before advancing to its first SEC championship game appearance since 2015.
The Lady Vols trailed, 22-10, after the first quarter and fell behind, 40-26, at halftime before outscoring LSU, 43-27, in the second half to earn the right to face South Carolina, the tournament’s top seed Sunday.
Tipoff is slated for 3 p.m. EST and ESPN will televise the contest.
Rickea Jackson totaled 26 points and 10 rebounds, while Horston finished with 17 points and 10 rebounds for Tennessee.
Jillian Hollingshead scored 11 points and Tess Darby added 10 for the Lady Vols.
Angel Reese had 22 points and 11 rebounds for Tigers.
