The Lady Vols (12-6, 4-0 SEC) defeated Vanderbilt (9-9, 0-4 SEC), 84-71, Sunday at Memorial Gymnasium in Nashville, Tennessee.
Tennessee prevailed to win its fifth consecutive game despite a late surge from the Commodores. Vanderbilt trailed by single digits several times during the final five minutes of the contest.
Rickea Jackson came off the bench to lead the Lady Vols with 21 points. She scored nine points in the fourth quarter.
Karoline Striplin scored 10 of her 15 points in the first half. She also totaled six rebounds. Jordan Horston finished with 13 points, eight rebounds and a game-high eight assists for Tennessee.
The Commodores’ Ciaja Harbison recorded 27 points to lead all scorers.
