As Boston Celtics guard Derrick White saw far too closely for comfort in his team’s loss this past weekend, guarding Golden State Warriors superstar point guard Stephen Curry is no picnic even for some of the NBA’s best defenders.

And if you can imagine trying to guard the future Hall of Fame floor general while integrating your style of play into a new ball club’s rotations after a midseason trade, well, you have the idea of what the Colorado native was up against when the Celtics faced the Warriors in the 2022 NBA Finals last summer.

White recently appeared on the “Old Man and the Three” podcast to talk over his defensive assignment in that series with JJ Redick, no slouch from beyond the arc himself.
