Texas Longhorns head coach Steve Sarkisian addressed the media on Monday following the bye week.
Texas is looking to bounce back after a disappointing loss to Oklahoma State in a game where the Longhorns yet again held a two-score second-half lead.
Sarkisian first updated us on two significant injuries in the secondary. He stated safety Anthony Cook and cornerback Ryan Watts are trending in the right direction to play this week.
The bye week was a much-needed break for the players. Sarkisian feels the team remained focused despite not having an opponent to prepare for. He mentioned multiple young players who took a leap in play during the week off.
Stopping superstar running back Deuce Vaughn is the focal point for Texas’ defensive game plan. Sarkisian added they are preparing for the different skillsets of both Adrian Martinez and Will Howard.
Here is a look at everything Sarkisian said on Monday as the Longhorns prepare for No. 13 Kansas State.
