Road woes continue as No. 11 Oklahoma State tops No. 20 Texas 41-34

Deja vu strikes again for Steve Sarkisian and Texas.

Deja vu strikes again for Steve Sarkisian and Texas. The Longhorns’ three-game winning streak has come to an end with a 41-34 loss to Oklahoma State.

Texas’ second half collapse hit after taking a 34-24 lead in the third quarter. The Horns went stagnant on offense and failed to come up with a clutch defensive stop. Oklahoma State ended the game on a 17-0 run to come out with the win.

Spencer Sanders hit Bryson Green for a 41-yard touchdown with three minutes to go for the game-winning score.

Quinn Ewers looked the part of a freshman making his first career road start. He finished completing 19 of 49 passes for two scores and three interceptions. Ewers’ 14 overthrows were the most by a Texas quarterback since 2010.

Texas’ running game proved effective in the first half. Bijan Robinson and Roschon Johnson paced the offense to put up 31 points going into halftime. Texas abandoned the rushing attack as the game progressed.

The loss drops Texas to 5-3 on the season and 3-2 in Big 12 play. Texas is now 1-7 in true roads games under Sarkisian.
