2023 NFL draft: Will Texas RB Bijan Robinson warrant a 1st-round pick?

Could the Longhorns star be the rare running back prospect to crack the first round in next year’s NFL draft?

Running backs have had a hard time cracking the first round of the NFL draft in recent years, despite some impressive prospects who bring both athleticism and production to the next level.

The next superstar college back on the way is Texas’ Bijan Robinson, who has all the skills to be a dynamic playmaker in the NFL.

Listed at 6-0, 200 pounds, Robinson racked up 1,127 yards and 11 touchdowns on just 195 carries for the Longhorns last season, averaging nearly six yards per carry. The year before, Robinson proved his big-play ability, averaging over eight yards per carry on his 86 attempts.

A versatile back with a three-down skill set, Robinson has 41 receptions for 491 yards and six touchdowns over the past two seasons.

There will be a handful of teams with multiple first-round picks in next year’s draft, and one of them might be tempted to make a luxury pick that could pay immediate dividends for their offense by adding Robinson.

Wherever he lands in next year’s draft, don’t be surprised if Robinson becomes an immediate star.
