There may be linebacker help on the way for Texas, a team that certainly needs some help on the defensive side of the ball.
While the Longhorns have been hauling in talent on the offensive side of the ball, Texas has missed out on a handful of defensive transfers in Ochaun Mathis (Nebraska), Jared Verse (FSU), and Isaiah Land (FAMU).
In 2021, Texas struggled with rushing the passer and could use much more depth at linebacker in particular.
Their prime opportunity to add an experienced player at the position is with JMU transfer linebacker Diamonte Tucker-Dorsey. On Wednesday, the Longhorns received a 247Sports crystal ball prediction in their favor. Tucker-Dorsey visited Austin within the last few days.
While at James Madison, the Football Championship Subdivision All-American totaled 116 tackles, nine tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, two forced fumbles and four interceptions for the Dukes.
He is someone who could fight for playing time immediately, and would add much needed experience to a very thin position group.
