Football Championship Subdivision All-American linebacker Diamonte Tucker-Dorsey is headed to Austin May 23-25 for an official visit.
The former James Madison star is fresh off a visit to UCF where he spent time around Gus Malzahn’s program. Texas is the next school on his visit list with a potential trip to Texas A&M soon after. Max Olsen of the Athletic reports Tucker-Dorsey hopes to make a decision this week.
Texas has made Tucker-Dorsey a priority from the jump. They wasted no time offering him after his name went into the transfer portal on May 18.
Tucker-Dorsey was all over the field for the Dukes last season, he totaled 116 tackles, nine tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, two forced fumbles and four interceptions.
The Longhorns desperately needed help at the linebacker position after the unit collectively struggled in 2021. DeMarvion Overshown, Jaylan Ford and David Gbenda have not shown the consistency Texas wants just yet. Tucker-Dorsey immediately would compete for a starting job.
