NCAA Tournament: Lady Vols advance to Knoxville Regional softball final

The Lady Vols have advanced to the Knoxville Regional final of the NCAA Tournament.

No. 11 Tennessee (41-16) defeated Oregon State (34-20). 3-0, in the winner’s bracket final Saturday before an announced crowd of 1,563 at Sherri Parker Lee Stadium.

Tennessee avenged an early-season loss to the Beavers.

The Lady Vols scored three runs in the third inning. McKenna Gibson had an RBI single and Kiki Milloy hit a two-run home run in the fifth inning to give Tennessee a 3-0 lead.

Ashley Rogers (12-5) pitched a two-hit shutout complete game for the Lady Vols. She surrendered two hits and recorded eight strikeouts.

Tennessee will play in the Knoxville Regional final Sunday at 2 p.m. EDT.
