It’s no secret that the linebacker position is one of the biggest needs of Texas’ roster right now.
The Longhorns have swung and missed on numerous linebacker prospects in the transfer portal this offseason, but fortunately still have a chance to land an immediate contributor at the position in JMU graduate transfer Diamonte Tucker-Dorsey.
Tucker-Dorsey officially entered his name in the transfer portal on May 17, and Texas extended an offer less than 24 hours later. In 2021, he totaled 116 tackles, nine tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, two forced fumbles and four interceptions for the Dukes.
He will have one year of eligibility remaining. Power Five programs such as Ole Miss, Auburn, Texas A&M, Florida State have also extended an offer to the talented linebacker over the last two days.
