PFF names Micah Hyde as Bills ‘most underrated player’

PFF names Micah Hyde as #Bills ‘most underrated player’

The superstars of the NFL often garner the most attention when it comes to commercial appeal. The Buffalo Bills have several players who are featured on and off the field in various ways.

However, it’s the players who might not command the glitz-and-glamor of the league who have a massive impact on their team’s success.

Pro Football Focus released its list of ‘most underrated players’ that highlights those who may have flown under the radar on their respective teams.

The football analytics outlet named safety Micah Hyde as the Bills player who fit best into this category.

PFF highlights:

Buffalo’s safety duo has long been among the league’s most underrated players. Hyde has flown under the radar relative to his performances for his entire NFL career while playing for two different teams. Since moving to Buffalo, he has one season with a PFF grade lower than 79.5 and no below-average years at a position where it’s difficult to maintain excellent performances. He has consistently been an elite coverage player with the versatility to move around in the secondary and allow that Bills system to function.

Hyde is one of the cornerstone players whose arrival coincided with coach Sean McDermott’s start in Western New York. Hyde is the quintessential player who has bought into McDermott’s team-first, process-driven model. Hyde’s leadership was essential in guiding the turnaround for this organization.

In five seasons in Buffalo, Hyde has recorded 386 total tackles and 14 interceptions. He’s been named a second-team All-Pro twice and a Pro Bowl participant once. So much for being fully under-the-radar.
