The road towards defending the Big 12 title starts this weekend for Texas baseball.

No. 2 Texas (18-5) will travel to Lubbock to battle out against No. 16 Texas Tech (18-4) to start Big 12 conference play this weekend. A huge series for both teams who are considered favorites to win the conference.

The Longhorns appear to be back on track after a tough road trip to South Carolina. Texas is on a five-game win streak, scoring 66 runs during the stretch.

Texas Tech looks to have reloaded yet again under Tim Tadlock. The Red Raiders have the look of a very complete team in 2022. Second baseman Jace Jung and starting pitcher Brandon Bridsell are having fantastic seasons thus far. Freshman Trendan Parrish is holding it down out of the bullpen with five saves already.

Friday: Texas LHP Pete Hansen (4-0, 2.57) vs. Texas Tech RHP Andrew Morris (2-0, 4.84)

Saturday: Texas RHP Tristan Stevens (4-1, 1.17) vs. Texas Tech RHP Brandon Birdsell (3-1, 1.80)

Sunday: Texas LHP Lucas Gordon (1-1, 1.61) vs. Texas Tech LHP Mason Molina (1-2, 2.70)
