It’s the last game of the Ohio State basketball regular season and it’s a fairly big one. Any shot at a Big Ten regular-season title went out the window earlier in the week, but there’s still a legitimate shot at getting one of the coveted top four seeds in the upcoming Big Ten Tournament. That would mean a double-bye and a much easier path to the championship game.
To do it though, first things first is a win against Michigan at home has to happen. A loss would bump the Buckeyes down below the top four spots no matter what happens because of a tiebreaking scenario with the Iowa Hawkeyes. However, win, then root for Illinois to beat the Hawkeyes in Champaign and the Buckeyes get some much-needed rest after a week in which it played four games.
The fact that this one is against arch-rival Michigan makes the matchup even more intriguing. The Wolverines will play desperate because of being on the bubble for the NCAA Tournament, so you can expect this one to be one with a lot of emotion and energy.
