After a slow start to the 2023 recruiting cycle, the Ohio State football program is starting to put some things together. So far, there are four commitments to a class that currently ranks No. 7 in the 247Sports Team Composite Rankings. There is, of course, a long, long way to go.
And now, the Buckeyes are in the door with the recruitment of four-star 2023 linebacker Josiah Trotter who shared his final eight teams on Monday. At 6-foot, 2-inches, and 230-pounds, the Philadelphia native is ranked as the No. 24 linebacker and 264th overall prospect in the country according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.
The other seven teams included in Trotters’ top eight are Texas A&M, Notre Dame, Penn State, West Virginia, Virginia Tech, Clemson, and South Carolina.
First off I would like to thank God, I would not be here without him. I would like to thank all the coaches who have offered me to be able to play at the next level. I will be focusing on these 8 schools for the remainder of my process.@rledits24 @BrianDohn247 pic.twitter.com/vb13cIIjnv

It’s too early to tell which way Trotter might be leaning, and there’s still probably a long, long way before he makes his commitment, but as things progress we’ll continue to follow things.
