No. 7 Tennessee (14-1, 3-0 SEC) kept its undefeated Southeastern Conference record intact Thursday, defeating No. 25 Texas A&M, 73-45, at Thompson-Boling Arena.
The Lady Vols trailed, 21-20, at the end of the first quarter, but they outscored Texas A&M (10-4, 0-2 SEC), 22-7, in the second quarter.
Tennessee led, 42-28, at halftime.
Tennessee’s Jordan Horston led all scorers with 18 points and recorded a double-double, finishing with 13 rebounds.
Tamari Key and Rae Burrell each had nine points each.
Key had six rebounds and a career-high 11 blocks. Burrell, who recently returned from injury, played 17 minutes in her second game back after suffering a knee injury in Tennessee’s season opener.
Destiny Pitts led Texas A&M with 12 points.
