Bills elevate Isaiah Hodgins, Bobby Hart from practice squad ahead of Patriots meeting

#Bills elevate Isaiah Hodgins, Bobby Hart from practice squad ahead of #Patriots meeting:

The Buffalo Bills brought two players up from their practice squad on Friday ahead of their Week 16 meeting against the New England Patriots.

The team announced that wide receiver Isaiah Hodgins and offensive lineman Bobby Hart are the two taxi squad players now with the team.

In somewhat corresponding moves, the Bills (8-6) also signed two players to their practice squad. Those are wide receiver Austin Proehl and punter Jamie Gillan (They are not taking Hodgins & Hart’s spots, the Bills had openings.)

Both Hodgins and Hart being elevated have to do with the Bills (8-6) having players on their Reserve/COVID-19 list.

Over the past few days, both wide receivers Gabriel Davis and Cole Beasley ended up on the designation. Both are also unvaccinated, so they have already been ruled out vs. the Patriots (9-5).

Because of that, Hodgins will likely be active on game day as a depth player. He was a 2020 sixth-round pick by the Bills and would be making his NFL debut.

On the other hand, Hart has a chance of not suiting up.

Offensive linemen Dion Dawkins and Jon Feliciano have spent a bit of time on the Reserve/COVID-19 list already. Both are also vaccinated.

Per NFL rules, since they have gotten their shots, with one negative COVID test and no symptoms, they could return to play as late Sunday morning.

In that case, there’s a chance Hart would be inactive on game day even though he was called up.

Time will tell who can return from the COVID list.
