It’s all Alabama now after a relatively rough start for the Crimson Tide early against New Mexico State.
After going down 3-0 early in the first quarter, the Crimson Tide have responded in a big way since then.
Bryce Young and the Alabama offense are firing on all cylinders right now after several touchdown drives and just one drive falling short of points.
But the defense is doing a fine job in their own right. After forcing New Mexico State’s fourth punt in three drives, Alabama wide receiver Christian Leary went in to block the ensuing punt, which was recovered and taken to NMSU’s four yard-line.
Following the blocked punt, Brian Robinson Jr got the call near the goal-line and easily punched it in for six, extending the lead to 21-3.
After another forced punt in NMSU’s following drive, the Crimson tide got the ball back on the NMSU 32 following a 24-yard return by Slade Bolden.
Two plays later Bryce Young found Jameson Williams, who took it to the house for his second touchdown of the day.
