WATCH: Texas WR Xavier Worthy burns Baylor defense for long touchdown

Xavier Worthy burns the Baylor defense for a 63-yard touchdown

With the Texas offense looking somewhat stagnate, they needed a huge play to add another score on the board in their Week 9 matchup against Baylor.

After the Bears drove down the field and notched a field goal, the Longhorns were trailing 10-7. First-year head coach Steve Sarkisian, being the offensive mastermind he is, wanted to take a shot on Texas’ next drive, and did he ever.

Quarterback Casey Thompson knew exactly where he was going with the ball, as he dropped back and launched the ball so high the cameras couldn’t pick it up to a striding Xavier Worthy.

The speedy freshman took his first and only catch of the game so far 63-yards to the house, to give Texas a 14-10 lead, and some very much needed momentum on offense after a horrible three-and-out the drive before.

The touchdown catch gives Worthy his seventh on the season, and helps him inch closer to the record for most touchdowns by a freshman Longhorn receiver.
