The Seattle Kraken have been playing hockey as the NHL’s 32nd team for a few weeks now, but Saturday was the first time they did so at their home rink in front of their fans.
Saturday’s contest against the Vancouver Canucks was the first time the Kraken took the ice at Climate Pledge Arena, marking a huge milestone for the franchise. Though the season has not been kind to the Kraken early, this is still an exciting time for Seattle and its fans to celebrate and take pride in.
Even though the night was not as elaborate or flashy as Vegas’ home opener was in 2017 — to be fair, no one will match the Golden Knights in flashiness — the enthusiasm was high from Kraken fans from the moment the doors opened.
