Ole Miss RB gives Alabama bulletin board material

Apparently lessons haven’t been learned. Ole Miss RB Jerrion Ealy gave a bit of bulletin board material for Saban and Alabama!

All eyes will be on the Alabama Crimson Tide this week, as No. 12 Ole Miss will visit Tuscaloosa for the first time under head coach Lane Kiffin.

Coming with Kiffin to Tuscaloosa is a potent offense that can score on a dime, led by Heisman-hopeful quarterback Matt Corral, in his second season at the helm of the Ole Miss offense.

One of the lesser known, yet very talented and capable members of the Ole Miss offense, running back Jerrion Ealy, had some things to say that are bound to rile up some Tide players and supporters.

The media in Mississippi was given some time to catch up with Ealy earlier last week, and it’s a statement that I’m sure Nick Saban will bring up when preparing his team to take the field on Saturday.

I evaluate it like this. I don’t believe there is anyone that can beat us but ourselves. If we go out there and don’t beat ourselves, we’re in good shape.

Of course, no self-respecting player would ever come out and say that they’re not capable of winning, but there’s got to be an easier way to talk about the game against the Tide without straight-out saying that the only team that can beat yours is itself. That’s proven time and time again to not be good business.

If I’m understanding correctly, Ealy is under the impression that Alabama isn’t capable of beating Ole Miss this Saturday. Suggesting that only Ole Miss can beat Ole Miss is a dangerous assumption to make about a team that never lets trash-talk go unpunished.

You can catch the game between No. 1 Alabama and No. 12 Ole Miss Saturday at 2:30 p.m. CT on CBS.
