Jakailin Johnson became an official member of the Ohio State football team on Wednesday when he had his black stripe removed. Johnson was the No. 3 rated cornerback in the country in the 2021 recruiting class and a top 50 player overall.
Johnson hails from St. Louis, Missouri, and was also the No. 1 prospect in the state. Assistant strength and conditioning coach Chris Fenelon said he goes against the best every day and doesn’t back down. High praise for a kid who could be a real special talent in the OSU secondary.
Check out what Johnson had to say after finding out about the removal.
“I mean zone six for competeing, getting me better every day. Shoutout BIA for bringing me into the brotherhood. Go Bucks!”

With some of the injuries in the OSU secondary, Ohio State may have to look to Johnson sooner rather than later. Whenever that may be, the kid looks like he’ll be a good one.
