Ohio State head coach Ryan Day met with reporters on Monday as a part of some “bonus” coverage, as an unscheduled presser. It turns out, he was ready to announce what everyone thought, naming redshirt freshman quarterback C.J. Stroud the starter for game one against Minnesota.
And while that subject took up a good amount of his time at the podium, it’s not all Day discussed. He also talked about the named captains of the team and others needing to also be leaders, provided some injury updates, sang the praises of the other quarterbacks, and more.
If you missed any of his comments and want to get up to speed, we’ve got the entire presser for you thanks to the Ohio State Buckeyes Facebook page.
Click on the below and have a watch to get all the updates the coach provided Saturday morning and afternoon.
Ohio State is set to square off with the Golden Gophers on Thursday, September 2. We’re less than two weeks away.
