Four-star offensive tackle Kam Dewberry has been one of Texas’ primary targets for quite some time.

The Longhorns originally extended an offer to Dewberry on May 20, 2019 under Tom Herman’s staff. Since Steve Sarkisian and Kyle Flood have taken over in Austin, Dewberry’s ties to Texas have begun to heat up.

The Humble native currently has a top five list of Texas, Oklahoma, Ohio State, Texas A&M and Alabama. He’s one of the recruits that the Longhorns could make significant strides with if/when they make the move to the SEC.

Throughout the month of June, Dewberry took an unofficial visit to Texas and official visits to Texas A&M, Ohio State, and Oklahoma. On Sunday, the 6-foot-4, 313-pound offensive tackle announced that he is planning to take an official visit to Austin this fall.

Dewberry was a MaxPreps Sophomore All-American and first-team all-district selection in 2019 for Atascocita High School. He started at right tackle last season and helped his team to a Texas 6A D-I third-round playoff appearance.

He is rated the No. 10 offensive tackle prospect for the 2022 recruiting class according to 247Sports.
