Fantasy football draft: Where to target Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan

Analyzing Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan’s 2021 fantasy football ADP and where you should target him in your drafts.

Despite losing WR Julio Jones, the expectations for QB Matt Ryan this coming season are high following the addition of rookie TE Kyle Pitts. Below, we look at Matt Ryan‘s 2021 fantasy football average draft position (ADP) and where you should draft him.

The Falcons traded Jones to the Tennessee Titans this offseason. Now, it’ll be the WR Calvin Ridley show. Pitts will also add an element to their offensive attack, but it will all rest on how Ryan performs.

Entering his 14th season in the NFL, Ryan may start to slow down, having both the most attempts and completions in the league in 2020. He should be used at a high volume again as the Falcons run game, now led by RB Mike Davis, may not be that improved.

As a fantasy option though, Ryan should deliver some value for managers looking for a QB1 late in the draft.

Ryan is not even in the second wave of quarterbacks anymore, as it looks like managers are opting for options with more upside like Cincinnati Bengals QB Joe Burrow Philadelphia Eagles QB Jalen Hurts.

That’s pushed Ryan all the way down the 21st quarterback taken off the board. He has been selected as high as No. 23 and as low as No. 219.

Ryan is behind Pitts, Ridley and Davis in terms of ADP among Falcons players.

Where should you take Matt Ryan in your fantasy football draft?

In two-QB leagues, Matt Ryan should be a late-second or early-third round pick. He has had 4,000 yards and 20 touchdowns in 10 straight seasons, and I don’t see that being broken quite yet.

He should be available in all league formats, and his value only rises drastically for two-QB leagues. Other than those, Ryan should be an eighth-round pick in standard 12-team leagues.
