The Seattle Kraken are getting ready to enter the National Hockey League. The Buffalo Sabres and rest of the NHL are now getting set to lend a helping hand.
When a new team joins a league, there is traditionally an expansion draft to help it formulate a roster by picking players from active rosters. Hockey’s upcoming draft is on Wednesday.
The non-expansion clubs are able to protect up to 11 players (seven forwards, three defensemen and a goaltender) from being taken by the new team. While the NHL does get a little fancy with the positions, let’s just go clear-cut for our purpose of having a little fun with this one.
