The Patriots are Fumagalli’s second NFL team. He was a fifth-round pick in 2018 by the Denver Broncos and played 19 games for the team.
The former Badger joins a tight end rotation in New England highlighted by Jonnu Smith and Hunter Henry, a rotation that will be tough to crack for an inexperienced tight end such as Fumagalli.
Bill Belichick is the best in the business at finding talent from other NFL teams, though, so this signing may be what the former Badger needs to jumpstart his NFL career.
