We weren’t the only ones of course, but we were filleted mightily when ranking Ryan Day as one of the best college football coaches when he immediately took the baton from Urban Meyer at Ohio State. We feel vindicated because Day has turned out to be everything we thought he was.
Now, the needle is starting to point up with the national perception as well. Almost every ranking of top college coaches now has Day among the best, and CBS Sports’ latest is no different.
Tom Fornelli got with his colleagues at CBS Sports and voted on the top college football coaches among the Power Five conferences. They have Day up among the elite, this after taking a wait-and-see approach with him at No. 10 before last season.
