Texas extends offer to five-star athlete Makai Lemon out of California

Texas is targeting one of the top overall prospects from the state of California for the 2023 cycle.

Five-star athlete Makai Lemon announced via Twitter on Wednesday he received an offer from the University of Texas.

The highly sought-after prospect from the 2023 recruiting class has received an impressive list of offers from Power Five programs, including Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Oklahoma and Penn State.

Lemon is rated the No. 2 overall recruit from the state of California and a top-20 prospect in the country according to 247Sports composite rankings. He’s a two-way player for Los Alamitos High School and has elite upside as a wide receiver or cornerback at the collegiate level.
