One of the top prospects in the state of Michigan has listed the Spartans in his top 10 list.
Alex VanSumeren — a four-star defensive tackle from Essexville, Mich. — revealed his top 10 schools on Tuesday morning, and Michigan State made the list. The Spartans are joined by Alabama, Clemson, Texas A&M, Penn State, Indiana, Oregon, Arizona, Auburn and Nebraska.
I’ve been Blessed with many amazing opportunities and I truly appreciate all of the remarkable coaches and staff that shared their time and knowledge with me the past several months . . . VanSumeren is ranked as the No. 16 defensive tackle and No. 193 overall recruit in the country. He’s also listed as the No. 4 player in the state of Michigan.
Last week, Michigan State was mentioned in an article as one of the programs building a strong relationship with VanSumeren so it makes sense to see the Spartans listed in his top 10. With how things are trending, it appears Michigan State will be in the race for VanSumeren until the end.
