The Texas Longhorns (26-8) have had plenty of attention these last few weeks thanks to the dominating bat of Ivan Melendez. He had been on a historic run of six consecutive games with a home run, chasing the NCAA record which sits at eight games.
Unfortunately for Melendez, his pursuit was cut short on Tuesday night. He went two for three with a double and two RBIs, ending his chase for the record.
Despite that, Texas still got the win and is extended their win streak to nine consecutive games and Melendez did receive some accolades during the stretch.
