The Lady Vols had a short day on the diamond Tuesday despite playing a doubleheader.
No. 21 Tennessee swept Bellarmine University at Sherri Parker Lee Stadium taking the opener from the Knights, 18-0. The Lady Vols notched an 8-0 victory in the nightcap. Both games were called after five innings.
In the opener, UT pitchers Callie Turner and Anna Hazlewood combined to hurl a no-hitter and the Knights had only one player reach base.
Turner tossed three innings and had three strikeouts before Hazlewood, a sophomore, threw two innings of relief. She surrendered one walk and struck out one.
Ivy Davis, Ashley Morgan and Ally Shipman all homered in the game.
Morgan went 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBIs, while Shipman had two hits, three runs scored and knocked in three runs.
Davis was 1-for-3 with a run and three RBIs for the Lady Vols, who scored 17 runs over the first three innings.
In the second game, Kiki Milloy had a pair of RBI singles and Shipman drove in a pair. Rylie West had a double and knocked in two runs and Madison Webber had an RBI single for Tennessee (20-3).
The Lady Vols also stole four bases as Davis, Chelsea Seggern, Milloy and Amanda Ayala all swiped bags against the Knights (4-13).
In the circle, Bailey McCachren threw a complete game. She gave up two hits and two walks while fanning one.
