The No. 19 Texas Longhorns (6-5) played their second game of their three-game series vs. the Houston Cougars, winning game one last night 1-0. In another close game, it took extra innings but the Cougars took game two 3-2 to tie the series at one game each.
A pair offreshman Longhorns, Douglas Hoddo III and Trey Faltine, stole the show for Texas. Faltine hit two doubles and an RBI, while Hodo batted .400 with two hits for the game.
Texas held the lead for four and a half innings until a Cougars run in the fifth tied the game at two for the remainder until the last at-bat.
The game remained tied at two through 10 innings until Houston’s Tyler Bielamowicz hit the game-winning walk-off home run in the 11th to tie the series.
Tristan Stevens and Aaron Nixon were the highlighted pitchers today, pitching a combined 7.3 innings for nine strikeouts, with Nixon giving up the game-winner.
