Alabama baseball wins season opener by scoring double digits

Alabama baseball picks up where they left off from last season, as the Crimson Tide wins their opening day game by scoring double digits.

Crimson Tide baseball began their season today ranked as the No. 25 team in the nation. They made it clear that they were looking to move up the ranks as they took down McNeese State 10-6 on opening day.

The scoring started early for Alabama. Five runs by the fifth inning for the Crimson Tide put them up over the scoreless Cowboys.

For the remaining four innings, the two teams traded punches with McNeese racking up six runs in and Alabama adding five more.

Sophomore pitcher Connor Prielipp, who was recently ranked as the No. 4 best pitcher in all of college baseball, pitched a total of five innings, only allowing four hits and striking out eight. Not a single walk or earned run allowed.

The Crimson Tide managed to hit two over the fence, as both Sam Prayto and Peyton Wilson hit home runs.

Alabama will look to take the series tomorrow as they face off against McNeese State for the second contest of the three-game series.
