Texas landed a monster commitment from four-star wide receiver Evan Stewart on Thursday night.
Stewart’s commitment bumped the Longhorns ahead of the Oklahoma Sooners in terms of 2022 recruiting class rankings. Texas has the top class in the Big 12 and now sits at No. 5 in the nation with six players committed.
After just two months on the job, head coach Steve Sarkisian has landed five-star quarterback Maalik Murphy, four-star running back Jaydon Blue, and four-star wide receiver Armani Winfield among others. Stewart is now the second-highest rated player in Texas’ 2022 class behind Murphy.
The phrase ‘All Gas No Brakes’ fits Stewart quite literally.
The 6-foot-0, 175-pound playmaker is a top-10 prospect in the state of Texas and brings elite speed to the Longhorns wide receiver room. Stewart chose Texas over the likes of Alabama, Oregon, LSU, Penn State, and Texas A&M.
Sarkisian is off to a hot start on the recruiting trail with in-state prospects as well as West Coast recruits. It’s certainly caught the attention of numerous fans, recruits, coaches, and current players.
