Texas basketball vs. Oklahoma State first half recap

This is the first half recap between the No. 6 Texas Longhorns and the Oklahoma State Cowboys.

To the same tune as their first matchup, part two is also a close one. At the end of the first half, the Cowboys lead the Longhorns by a score of 35-29 with Texas leading by as much as nine at one point.

All eyes have been on future NBA Draft picks in phenom Cade Cunningham from Oklahoma State and the Longhorns own sophomore Kai Jones. Up to this point, Cunningham has been a non-factor, shooting 1-7 for three points and two fouls. Jones has been the better player shooting 60% for seven point and six rebounds.

The Longhorns are trying to avoid losing their fourth game in a five game stretch, while Oklahoma State is looking to win their sixth game of their last nine.

A Texas loss would drop the Longhorns from third in the Big 12 standings down to sixth (depending on how the rest of the Big 12 finishes today) and likely out of the top 10. A win would keep them third overall in the conference.

Leading Scorers in the first half:

Kalib Boone – 13 pts, 6 rebs

Avery Anderson III – 8 pts, 4 rebs

Kai Jones – 7 pts, 6 rebs
