Former Longhorn Charles Omenihu questionable against the Patriots

Houston Texans defensive end, former Longhorn Charles Omenihu returned to practice on a limited basis this week.

Former Texas defensive end Charles Omenihu quickly became a critical part of the Houston Texans defensive line unit this offseason.

Although Omenihu received minimal playing time as a rookie last year, he worked with DeMarcus Ware this offseason and has now ascended to the top of the Texans’ depth chart at defensive end. He’s currently splitting time alongside P.J. Hall on the right side.

Omenihu missed the Texans contest last week against the Cleveland Browns due to a hamstring injury suffered in Week 9 over the Jacksonville Jaguars. The former 2019 fifth-round pick did not practice at all last week, but he has a chance of returning in Week 11 as the Texans prepare to face the New England Patriots.

According to the Texans official injury report, Omenihu was a limited participant this week. Being able to participate in practice on a limited basis for consecutive days bodes well for his availability on Sunday.

Omenihu has appeared in eight games for Houston this season and has recorded three total tackles and two sacks.
