The week of reckoning in the Big 12 has finally arrived. From the time Oklahoma lost to Iowa State in Ames, we’ve had this week circled on our calendars.
Oklahoma-Oklahoma State. Iowa State-Kansas State. Bedlam. Farmageddon. However you slice it, this week’s marquee matchups have a very good chance at deciding which teams will play for a Big 12 title in Arlington a few weeks from now.
An Iowa State win would virtually eliminate Kansas State from Big 12 contention, reopening the door for Oklahoma to control their destiny. A Kansas State win wouldn’t necessarily eliminate the Sooners, but their conference title hopes would hinge on Texas’ matchup with Kansas State two weeks from now.
Iowa State-Kansas State is set to kickoff at 3 p.m. CT, so by the time the first quarter of Bedlam is over, Oklahoma fans will know whether the Sooners have regained control of their own destiny.
Let’s get right into the projections. For comparison’s sake, here’s last week’s outlook.
The following projections are based on a composite of fifteen different published rating systems and 20,000 simulations of the remaining Big 12 schedule, updated through week seven’s results.
