Well that’s more like it.
After it appeared many of the voters in the Amway Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports waited for Ohio State to put a game on tape, the Buckeyes have now moved up a couple of spots to No. 3 in the latest release.
It’s still a spot below the initial preseason rankings, but at least the two teams ahead of Ohio State are perceived to be in the same ballpark. Clemson remains No. 1, followed by Alabama at No. 2. Behind those three teams are Notre Dame (4), Georgia (5), Oklahoma State (6), Cincinnati (7), Texas A&M (8), Florida (9), and BYU (10) rounding out the top ten.
There’s no denying that Ohio State looked like one of the best teams in the country through the second half against Nebraska. It was a slow start, but the Buckeyes seemed to figure it all out after being up just 17-14 at halftime. OSU outscored the ‘Huskers 35-3 during the last twenty minutes to win going away and now prepares to play Penn State next week in a prime time affair.
