The Detroit Lions have declared their Game Day inactives for their Week 6 matchup with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
The Lions elected to elevate tight end Isaac Nauta this week, meaning they enter today’s game with 54-players on their roster, and because they have kept eight offensive linemen on their active game-day roster, they are now eligible to expand their roster from 46- to 48-players — meaning they only need to declare six players inactive (instead of the traditional seven).
Here are those six players.
Lions’ inactives list
- CB Desmond Trufant — Ruled OUT on Friday
- QB David Blough
- WR Quintez Cephus
- OL Kenny Wiggins
- IOL Logan Stenberg
- LB Elijah Lee
Trufant being rued OUT means the Lions starting corners will be Amani Oruwariye, Jeff Okudah, and Darryl Roberts (in the slot).
Blough was just signed to the active roster yesterday to prevent him from being poached from the Dallas Cowboys and his inactive status is no surprise — this could be where he lands on game days moving forward.
Cephus is inactive for the first time this season, but with Jamal Agnew and Marvin Hall coming on of late, Cephus looks like the sixth receiving option. With tight end Nauta — who was promoted from the practice squad for this game — active, it appears the Lions preferred a third tight end over a sixth wide receiver for this matchup.
Wiggins and Stenberg are depth pieces on the offensive line and with Frank Ragnow active, they were excessive.
This is the second week in a row Lee has been a healthy scratch, and with C.J. Moore and others cutting into his special teams snaps, it’s fair to wonder how long he may stick on the roster with several Lions returning from injured reserve soon.
