The Miami Dolphins are a little less than an hour from kickoff, and we now know which Dolphins on the 53-man roster will not be suiting up for today’s game. The Dolphins shared the inactives list approximately 90 minutes before kickoff in Week 5.

The inactive list features one big surprise for the Dolphins after the week of practice — head coach Brian Flores spoiled the status of both Durham Smythe and Shaq Lawson as out on Friday ahead of the team’s travel to San Francisco. But running back Jordan Howard’s status as out is a bit out of left field — there was little buzz that he was not going to be available for the Dolphins. Howard’s usage to this point in the season has been whittled down to almost exclusively short yardage work, however. Considering what the Dolphins have invested in Howard in free agency, his production to this point in the season has been a disappointing development for Miami.
The rest of the inactives hold status quo for Miami — and the more pressing question will be whether or not the team has enough on the edge without Shaq Lawson to help bottle up the 49ers rushing attack this afternoon.
San Francisco and Miami kick off from Levi’s Stadium at 4:05 PM EST this afternoon.
