Alabama typically leans on Najee Harris as their lead back, and while he is usually able to make opposing defenses look silly, the Ole Miss defensive front has held him to an unimpressive first half.
Harris, 36 yards on nine carries and a fumble, looks to have taken a back seat role to senior Brian Robinson jr., a move that has proven to work for offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian and the Crimson Tide offense.
Down seven, Robinson entered the game and led a six play, 72-yard drive to tie the game at 14 a piece.
Robinson accounted for five of the six plays within the scoring drive, and was able to punch in a one-yard touchdown at the goal line, his first of the season.
The success from Robinson early in the game shouldn’t change Alabama’s pace, and might aid in getting through the Ole Miss defensive line.
