Former Ohio State Quarterback Dwayne Haskins benched by Washington Football Team

The Washington Football Team made a decision to bench former Ohio State quarterback, Dwayne Haskins in favor of Kyle Allen.

Dwayne Haskins started just one season on the football field at Ohio State and set numerous records while doing so. Coming out of college, Haskins looked to be a prototype NFL quarterback. However, being drafted by the dysfunctional Washington Football Team never seems to be a good place to start.

The single-season Big Ten passing leader struggled to acclimate himself last season but showed promise towards the tail end before he suffered an injury to end the season. He was given the starting nod coming into this year, has looked improved, but has still struggled tossing many touchdowns.

Now, Haskins has been benched just four games into the young 2020 season in favor of Kyle Allen, all after throwing for over 300 yards on 32 of 45 passing (71.1 percent) against Baltimore.

Curious no?

Haskins began the season as a starter with a win over Philadelphia but dropped back to back games thereafter. Haskins has completed 61 percent of his passes for 939 yards and four touchdowns to three interceptions. Clearly, new head coach Ron Rivera didn’t see enough to leave Haskins at the helm.

Only time will tell, but it doesn’t look like Washington will be the place for a young quarterback talent like Haskins to earn his stripes. However, if we know anything about Dwayne Haskins the quarterback, he’ll continue to work hard looking for ways to improve his game.
