There are a handful of Ohio State players that many thought would go to the NFL after the 2020 season. Wyatt Davis, Shaun Wade, Justin Fields, and Chris Olave are on that shortlist. All have performed at a high level and have gotten good draft grades by experts despite having more eligibility remaining after the fall season.
And while Davis and Wade briefly made the decision to opt-out and eventually come back with the Big Ten’s decision to reinstate the fall season, according to Olave during a media Zoom appearance on Tuesday, he never considered opting-out.
A lot of it no doubt had to do with being a part of the brotherhood in scarlet and gray, but a lot also had to do with the way things ended last year when Olave broke off his route, resulting in a game-ending interception against Clemson in the Fiesta Bowl.
“I would have came back,” Olave said. “That’s a guarantee. I couldn’t leave with that as the last play. So I would have came back. But we got the season reinstated, and we’re ready to go.”
Chris Olave says he would have returned even if the season was cancelled. "That's a guarantee. I couldn't leave (with that) as the last play."

One must remember that Olave is still relatively young too. He’s only entering his third year in the program, and still has a lot of development ahead of him.
Sometimes guys are driven naturally, but when you’re able to also add in motivation from failure and redemption, guys can often become the best versions of themselves on the field. That appears to be exactly where Olave is right now.
