He was putting together a dominant season already after just two games, but former Ohio State and current Washington Football Team defensive end Chase Young reportedly suffered a groin injury Sunday.
The former Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year left the game for the locker room during the second quarter and was quickly ruled out by Washington not long after. He returned to the sidelines in the second half but had his thigh heavily wrapped in an ACE bandage.
After the game, Washington head coach Ron Rivera said that he will be checked out further on Monday to determine the extent of the injury. But you have to think it’d be a surprise if Young was able to go next week against the Baltimore Ravens.
Rivera seemed to understand the gravity of losing a guy that’s already translated his skill set to the NFL rather seamlessly.
“Chase is a high-level-energy guy out there,” Rivera said. “He’s a guy who helps spark the organization.”

Young tweeted out a message that seemed to allude to it not being too major of a setback but we’ll just have to wait and see.
Was never my plan to start with , it was always his🙏🏾…nothing major tho… I’ll be back.

We’ll keep an eye on what news might trickle our sometime Monday on a prognosis for Young, but don’t be surprised to see him wreaking havoc in opponents’ backfields again soon.
