The newest version of Amway Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY is out and Ohio State has a beef. Remember when the preseason poll came out, OSU was ranked No. 2. Now, despite not playing any games, and despite others above them still not playing a game (SEC), the Buckeyes make an appearance back in the poll at … wait for it … No. 10.
Okay?
It really makes no sense. If Ohio State is the same team it was before it dropped out (spoiler — it is), then why have some voters changed their mind and treated the Buckeyes as a less superior team. And that’s with the news that both Shaun Wade and Wyatt Davis are looking to rejoin the team after initially opting out.
Maybe some of the coaches didn’t get the memo that the Big Ten is playing again. Or maybe they are operating under wait and see mode.
Anyway, onward and upward as they say. And really, it doesn’t matter much at this point anyway.

Clemson is No. 1, followed by Alabama at No. 2, and a tie for third between Oklahoma and Georgia. LSU, Florida, Notre Dame, Auburn, Texas, and the Buckeyes round out the top ten.
